The towers were rendered in terragen, take a look at my scraps gallery to see what this looked like when it was purely the terragen rendering.
I did some postwork with this to make it look cool, its really different then the terragen renderings... you might even ask yourself why i even DID the terragen rendering because by the end it was merely a reference, but oh well.

any suggestions would be great, if you've got any great ideas about how i could do cooler citys with terragen please share, its a nifty idea.

-shrugs- Don't worry about it at all. As you can tell I'm just now replying to you myself, what.. two months later? -_-;; I'm such a dork but.. -prods- Why is one area brighter than the other? Was it intentinal or what?

one area is brighter then the other because the random effect of the fog. In reality, i suppose this could happen due to the way the street lights are hitting the fog... but at the same time, this isn't supposed to be reality :D

thank you

For starters, I don't like the sky (you must be getting sick of that line because I never like the sky do I...?) because it seems, I don't know, a tad too green for me. Though gasp, I love the clouds! By Ra and Valga if they were a different colour I'd love this sky to death. That makes two sets of clouds I like, good job. ><
The buildings in the back seem a bit too dark but that also goes extremely well with the way they sort of tower over the city. And I like that a lot. So if they didn't tower over I'd say that it's too dark but once you really think about it, it means more than just buildings (well at least to me). What it reminds me of is a leader that you don't really like but have to follow anyways because they're so much bigger than you, not always by size but it could be by power and such. I know, you're probably thinking, okay, you're even weirder than before and it's merely a night time picture but heh, -anime fall- I have a tandancy to try and relate it to anything to help it make more sense. There's human logic for you.
Moving down, I love the way you can see the fog there because of all the lights. It's simply wonderful considering how I would of never even thought to put it there. Good job on that. ^__^
I don't really understand why one part is brighter than the other, maybe you could explain that to me? But other than that, I love all the lights and the way it all looks.
So, I'd say this is a pretty good piece, not your best but one of my favorites to say the least.
